Karen Richards is an Australian textile artist and designer. Situated at the end of the Great Ocean Rd, Karen runs a studio textile business supplying short run hand woven textiles to local galleries. Karen also produces lavish machine embroidery which is exhibited around the south west. Karen is an RMIT Textile Design (Weave) Graduate and teaches in the Studio Textile program at South West TAFE.

Guest exhibitor with Hurrah

Hurrah are an established  group of textile artists who have been exhibiting in Melbourne over the last 16 years. Originally drawn together by a passion for creative embroidery the group have diversified over the years into a variety of techniques and style.

Exhbition dates : Saturday 27th Sept - Sunday 12th Oct 2008                                                                                Opening Hours : Tues - Sunday 11am - 6 pm. Closed Monday

Travels in the Hat Machine

October 9th - November 9th 2008

Travels in the Hat Machine is Karen's latest solo collection of illustrative, machine embroidery. Influenced by the aesthetic of steam punk these new works centre on the melancholy travels of Sally the rabbit.
