Karen Richards is an Australian textile artist and designer. Situated at the end of the Great Ocean Rd, Karen runs a studio textile business supplying short run hand woven textiles to local galleries. Karen also produces lavish machine embroidery which is exhibited around the south west. Karen is an RMIT Textile Design (Weave) Graduate and teaches in the Studio Textile program at South West TAFE.

Karen won the 2009 Australian Cotton Expo Machine Embroidery award for her piece Minhamite

Upcoming Exhibitions

November 2009

Karen Richards and highly respected WA artist Annie Rawle are exhibiting new textile works  entitled ' Seascape/Landscape' at Time and Tide Cafe Gallery in Port Fairy in October 2009 to coincide with the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival.

Karen is working on  a solo exhibition of woven works exploring signalling to be exhibited locally early in 2010.
